I was out of the loop on trendy kids’ couches for a long time. If you’d have asked me about the Nugget years ago, I’d have asked “McDonalds or Chick-Fil-A?” But six years into parenthood, I know all about the popularity of the Nugget couch.
During the pandemic last winter when the days were long and particularly bleak, I struggled to keep my kids entertained like everyone else. Do you know the perfect outlet for releasing some of that pent-up Kid Energy™ when you’re stuck indoors? A Nugget couch.
But I didn’t want to pay $279 for it. Nor did I want to wait months and months for the supply chain to catch up and actually get one—I needed a solution, and I needed it ASAP.
Enter the Member’s Mark Kid’s Explorer Sofa from Sam’s Club. It’s basically the Nugget, but $50 cheaper. There are a ton of excellent Nugget dupes out there, but I think this one takes the cake.
Yes, you need this couch
My six-year-old loves curling up on the sofa to read books or play MarioKart. My two-year-old loves perfecting her best WWE moves by body-slamming herself on top of each cushion. They’ve both fallen asleep on it, too (as have I, if I’m being honest). During family movie nights, they drag it from their playroom to the living room and camp out until the credits roll.
It folds up if you’re into storing it in a more compact way, or you can display it as a regular couch. You can also separate all of the cushions to make little napping pads, or you can push them together side-by-side like my kids do when they’re playing “Mega Couch.”
Most colors are still available on Sam’s Club’s website, and it’ll be here in time for Christmas, too! Trust me, you need this couch. Your kids (and your wallet) will thank you.
